To protect the you (the Guest), and myself (the Host), please have the Turo app installed on a mobile device during your rental period, and configured to receive notifications.
All communication is done through the app but if you have any questions that require an immediate answer, please feel free to give us a ring and leave a voicemail; we'll get back to you as quickly as possible.
To change your start or end time, please click "Modify Trip" in the app. I will approve the request as quickly as possible.
Generally, you can consider your modifications approved unless I have another reservation directly before/after your trip.
To prepare the vehicle for the best Guest experience, we vacuum and wipe down the interior and wash the exterior between every rental, as time and weather permit.
For pre-trip photos, we upload 60+ photos of the vehicle 12-24 hours prior the start of your reservation, fill the gas tank, top off fluids, check tire pressure and generally make sure the car is prepared for your trip.
When you arrive to the vehicle, we ask that you take a few photos and note the mileage and amount of fuel. Please also make sure to "Check in" on the Turo app to start your trip.
Please note: The primary driver MUST be present when picking up and dropping off the vehicle. Additional drivers are free to add so please add any potential drivers as well. For insurance reasons, we cannot release the car prior to the start time of your trip.
Upon return, the vehicle should only need a quick wash and vacuum, which I will take care of once the vehicle is returned; otherwise, if it's excessively dirty, I request that you pick up trash and vacuum inside of the car.
Also, please fill the tank near where you'll be dropping off the vehicle. The home location, IAD and DCA airports all have multiple gas stations within 2-3 miles. Please refill before you return.
PLEASE NOTE - if the vehicle is returned 1+ hours prior to the trip ending without advance notice, and extra parking fees are incurred, the Guest will be charged for the parking exit fees at the end of their trip. I, as the Host, will pay the first hour but Guest will be responsible for anything longer than 1 hr.
I will send a message with a reminder to refuel and to ask approximately when the vehicle will be returned so that I can plan to pick up and check in the vehicle. If the vehicle is parked for an extended amount of time in a parking lot and incurs parking fees without me being aware that it's parked there, the Guest will be charged for any parking fees over 1 hour.
Tolls incurred during the Guests' trip are the Guest's responsibility.
Parking and traffic violations are the Guest's responsibility.
If anything unexpected happens, please PLEASE inform us right away, preferably through the app but a text, email or call is okay as well. This includes body damage or any type of accident, mechanical issue, traffic ticket, tire damage, etc. Please do not wait until the end of your trip.
Turo insurance, or your personal vehicle insurance covers all property damage. Please do not share our vehicle registration or insurance information without letting us know, nor with anyone other than a Law Enforcement Office.
Please note: All damage occurring during a rental period are the responsibility of the Guest and any insurance that they've procured through Turo, their own personal car insurance or any third party insurance secured by the guest.
The vehicles are cleaned between rentals and all maintenance is done. I make best efforts to have a clean, well maintained , safe and reliable car available for you. That being said, my vehicles are not brand new and some minor wear and tear cosmetic imperfections should be expected.
We hope you have a great time with your rental car! Though I'd like for you to fully enjoy your rental vehicle, please do not smoke in the vehicle. Treat the car like your own. Even though we'd like to be, we're not a full size corporate rental car agency and damage and odors take away from future customers and our income .
